Requirements - Operator:
Must be proficient at grading, excavating, slopes. Underground utilities (water, sewer, storm)
Able to operate multiple pieces of heavy equipment of various sizes and able to help when needed on the ground.
Able to read and interpret plans accurately.
Minimum 5 year of experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the installation of underground utilities to include water and sewer systems. Grade for curb, sidewalk, and roads. Operates large excavators, operates graders for leveling and operates tractors to load materials such as dirt and rocks. Operates backhoe and front-end loaders as required. Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. May perform manual digging and lifting, moving material by hand and working outside of equipment. May lead, guide, and train others while performing related work.
Minimum Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to operate heavy equipment.
Basic knowledge of industry best practices and procedures.
Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Knowledge of production procedures.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.

Working Conditions
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, and/or loud noises.
Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Must wear personal protective equipment daily.
