Description We are in search of a Medical Receptionist to support our team in GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan. The role primarily involves providing excellent customer service, managing patient registration, processing payments, verifying insurance, and scheduling appointments. This position is a short term contract employment opportunity that requires skills such as patient registration, customer service, and receptionist duties.Responsibilities: Welcome and interact with patients and visitors in a professional manner Handle the registration process by collecting and recording patient demographic information, medical history, and insurance details Verify and update patient records as necessary while ensuring compliance with data protection regulations Collect payments for services rendered to patients and provide receipts Verify insurance coverage and eligibility of patients, and assist them in understanding their financial responsibilities Maintain an organized system for handling financial transactions Communicate with insurance providers to confirm coverage and benefits, and promptly resolve any insurance-related issues Schedule and optimize appointments for patients, coordinating with other departments for urgent cases Provide patients with appointment reminders and necessary instructions Address patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints with empathy and professionalism Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure patients receive optimal care Perform general office tasks including filing, scanning, and data entry while maintaining an organized and efficient front desk area Adhere to office policies, procedures, and compliance standards. Requirements Proficiency in conducting patient registration and managing the registration process Proven experience in performing receptionist duties in a medical setting Ability to handle and process copays efficiently and accurately Experience with managing inpatient records and ensuring their confidentiality Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on providing a positive experience for patients Strong knowledge of the check-in process and ability to manage patient flow Familiarity with relevant medical software and programs Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changes in the workplace.
