This platform gives us a unique perspective on real estate space and capital markets allowing us to deliver solutions that meet our clients’ investment goals.ResponsibilitiesPrincipal Real Estate Investors is offering an exciting internship opportunity for those interested in Commercial Real Estate investments! During this internship, interns will have exposure to many areas of Commercial Real Estate, more specifically, they will have the opportunity to work on one of the teams mentioned below.As an intern, responsibilities will include underwriting potential investments, consolidating investment information and reporting on current investment portfolios while also gaining experience with ARGUS software.The various teams within Principal Real Estate Investors include:

Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities

Dedicated Private Equity Investment Team

Asset Management

Acquisitions & Dispositions

Private Debt Origination

Investment Operations

Who You AreWe’re looking for someone with:

Working towards or have a bachelor’s or graduate level degree in a field related to real estate, finance, accounting, or economics.

Participant of a formal real estate training program such as Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) or similar

Strong communication and leadership skills, demonstrated through formal positions in student organizations, community involvement or employment experiences

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

Prior experience or training in Argus is a plus.

3.0 GPA or higher is strongly preferred.

Current or previous participation in the SEO Career Edge and/or Real Estate Investments Program

This role offers the ability for in-office & hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek). You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors. Candidate will be located in Des Moines, IA.

Salary Range InformationSalary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance.
