Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring that the workplace is compliant with health and safety regulations, developing and implementing safety policies, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. This role involves coordinating safety training programs, conducting safety audits, and serving as a liaison between management and employees on safety-related issues.

Duties include:

Develop and Implement Safety Policies:

o Update, and enforce company safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

o Enforce emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.

Safety Training and Education:

o Organize and facilitate safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing education.

o Maintain records of safety training and certifications.

Conduct Safety Audits and Inspections:

o Perform regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and work practices.

o Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

o Ensure that safety equipment and PPE are available and properly maintained.

Incident Investigation and Reporting:

o Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.

o Prepare and submit detailed reports on findings, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.

o Maintain records of all safety-related incidents.

Regulatory Compliance:

o Stay current with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.

o Ensure that the company complies with all applicable safety standards and regulations.

o Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and audits.

Safety Communication and Culture:

o Promote a culture of safety through regular communication, awareness campaigns, and leadership.

o Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding safety concerns or suggestions.

o Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to safety initiatives.

Requirements include:

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field, preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

2-3 years of experience in a safety or related role.

Experience in conducting audits.

Ability to speak to small/medium groups effectively.

Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) preferred.

Basic knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations, knowledge of HAZMAT and EPA regulations.

Drug screen and background check required.

Salary Range: The salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary for this position which is $25.00/hr.-$32.00/hr.DOE

Paid time off includes 8 paid holidays per year, vacation is prorated based on hire date and employees are eligible to use vacation effective January after hire date, sick leave accrues at 1 hour for every 40 worked, jury duty (up to 30 days), and bereavement leave. Clothing wear out/allowance program. Voluntary benefit options include life, AD&D insurance. Employees are eligible for most benefits on the first of the month following 90 days of employment. However, some benefits have different qualifying periods. Medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance is effective on the 90th day of employment.
