A mechanical insulator installs various materials to control heat loss, condensation and noise on pipes and ducts in commercial buildings. The materials are lightweight and easy to handle and are made of foam rubber or fiberglass with a foil, plastic or aluminum jacketing. These materials are pre-molded and are cut to size and installed using tape, screws or adhesives.
