Shop Manager/Expeditor

We are currently seeking a highly organized and motivated Shop Manager/Expeditor to join our team. This role is crucial to ensuring the efficient operation of our shop and the timely delivery of materials to our projects.

Job Description:

As the Shop Manager/Expeditor, you will oversee the daily operations of our shop, manage inventory, and coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment to job sites. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the shop, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and equipment maintenance.

Coordinate the timely delivery of materials and equipment to job sites.

Track and manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed.

Work closely with project managers, foremen, and field teams to understand project needs and timelines.

Schedule and prioritize deliveries to meet project deadlines.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.

Supervise and train shop staff as needed.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a shop management, expediting, or similar role.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the electrical or construction industry.

Familiarity with local suppliers and vendors.
