Prep Cook Needed (Bulk/Mass Cooking Skills)

We are a local food service company that prepares meals for shelters and low-income housing communities. We believe food is a human right and should be accessible to Everyone despite their zip code or circumstances.
We are looking for an ambitious Prep Cook to assist in preparing delicious dishes in the kitchen. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes. A great prep cook will be quick, diligent, and willing to improve. You will be able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team. Mass cooking skills are required.
Responsibilities
Be on time and ready to prepare bulk meals
Follow the prep list created by the Lead to plan duties
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling/par cooking food, etc.
Prepare dishes for up to 1000/day (4-day work week - optional)
Maintained a clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, removing trash, etc.
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
Listen to Chef/Leadership
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
Constantly looking to improve skillset outside of work hours by staying up on industry standards

Hours: Hours may vary based on the needs of the company. Start time between 5am and 6:30 am, end time varies (2-4pm). Saturday/Sunday - Thursday needed.
