Part-Time Accounts Payable Clerk
Island School seeks a Part-Time Accounts Payable Clerk. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the accounts payable clerk will perform supportive functions in the accounting department which includes assisting in preparation of weekly bills for payment, maintaining files, and data entry using QuickBooks and Excel spreadsheets. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational and prioritization skills and ability to perform various bookkeeping and job related duties. The candidate should have strong analytical skills, be reliable, detail oriented, highly organized, able to multitask and meet deadlines. Pay range based on $20-25/hour /week depending on experience. 15-20 hours / week. Full-time available if able to complete other administrative support work. Full-time role qualifies for full medical and dental benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Skills/Knowledge: Should have basic knowledge of bookkeeping and of operating the QuickBooks computer program; must accurately attend to details in accord with duties of the position.
2. Education/Training: High School diploma required, college training in accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
3. Experience: Bookkeeping experience, Experience with Quickbooks, financial statements , bank reconciliations, Hawaii GE tax, general ledger transactions, is a plus!
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS –
● For accounts payable, sort incoming invoices and prepare for processing, reconciling open invoices with vendor statements and avoiding late fees;
● Vendor statements and other functions or reports as directed by the CFO;
● Keep all files current and in order;
● Assist in other office areas when assigned, including but not limited to, front desk, answering phone calls or client inquiries (parent, student, faculty, staff and visitors); assist with lunch fund collections; logo shop; school bus rosters, etc.;
● Undertake other responsibilities as may be reasonable assigned by the Chief Financial Officer or Head of School
