Our family owned physical therapy practice needs an experienced Medical Receptionist who can take of coordinating patient care and provider schedules as well as assist in medical billing. We are looking for a professional who will be patient oriented and provide exceptional customer service. This position will need to be filled by someone who is very independent with prior medical experience as they will be the primary receptionist in their clinic.
Job Duties Include:
- Answering multi-line phones and assist the caller in their needs or direct their call to the appropriate party
- Calling patients once a referral to our clinic has been received in order to schedule them as appropriate
- Scheduling patients in our EMR for new appointments and recurring appointments based on their
availability
- Greeting patients upon arrival, signing them in, taking patients insurance information or payment
information, giving them the proper paperwork or forms that are required for their appointment
- Track and process any payments made and maintain bookkeeping
- Preparing billing documentation for providers to fill out for their current patient load
- Faxing necessary patient information to insurance companies to assist billing manager
- Communication with our administrative staff regarding patient appointment numbers and office
productivity.
- Maintaining physical chart copies, paperwork and making copies or scans as needed
- Checking medical benefits, recording them into the patient chart and explaining benefits to patients
Required Skills:
- High school diploma/GED required
- 1+ years experience in medical administration, billing or reception
- Prior experience with medical electronic medical record systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Familiarity with medical billing such as checking medical benefits and interpreting medical benefits for
outpatient services
