Position: Executive Chef
Location: Tartine Bakery, Santa Monica
Job Overview:
We seek a talented and creative Chef with pastry and bread-baking experience to join our flagship culinary team. The ideal candidate will be a culinary leader passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences. As Executive Chef, you will oversee daily kitchen, bakery, pastry & and retail operations, assist with menu development, and people management to ensure high-quality food production and customer satisfaction.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise kitchen and pastry baking staff in food and pastry preparation
Develop innovative and consistent menu items
Manage inventory levels, ordering, and cost control
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation regulations
Collaborate with management on special events, banquets, and catering services
Train and mentor kitchen employees on culinary techniques and best practices
Oversee shift management for smooth kitchen operations
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in the food industry
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, menu development, and food presentation
Proficiency in inventory control, cost management, and kitchen operations
Understanding of food safety standards and sanitation regulations
Experience in banquet or catering services is a plus
Bartending skills for creating beverage pairings are advantageous
Proficiency in Restaurant 365, Paychex, and COGS
