Job Description:Under supervision, prepares and cooks food.Job Essentials
Reviews menus daily to determine quantities of food and supplies needed.
Prepares food for cafeteria, patient food service and catering using
creativity, quality, consistency, and promptness.
Follow and comply with recipe standards.
Monitors and replenishes food as needed for cafeteria, catering, or
patient trays.
Ensures food is being handled and stored to Hazardous Analysis of Critical
Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.
Operates various types of kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness. Records
temperatures of refrigerators. Ensures equipment is in good working condition.
Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by
service behavior standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.Shift Details
Some weekends & holidays
Morning shift approx.5:30am-2pm (although this can vary slightly)Minimum QualificationsPreferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
One (1) year food service experience in a healthcare facility, such as
health care food service
Minimum 6 months experience in food preparation, preferably in a healthcare
settingTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business
hours or scheduled shifts is required.
Hazardous Analysis of Critical Control Point (HACCP) training to be
obtained after hire.
Ability to follow a recipe and scale.
Basic knowledge of food allergies and dietary restrictionsPhysical Requirements:
