The EM business designs, manufactures, and supports the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.Combining hardware and software expertise in electron, ion, and light microscopy and with deep application knowledge in the Materials Science, Life Sciences, and Semiconductor markets, the worldwide Electron Microscopy employees are dedicated to customers pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges.The MissionThe Americas NanoPort team, within the Sales and Service Division (SSD), runs an innovative Electron Microscopy and Surface Analysis Centre of Excellence, supporting account managers and external Thermo Fisher Scientific customers in the Sciences and Industry markets. Key goals of the NanoPort team are to deliver high-quality Customer Applications Training and Support, and to conduct carefully prepared Product and Workflow Demonstrations.How will you make an impact?You will contribute new insights, build and present solutions to our customers in various fields within academics, commercial and government accounts.What will you do?
Provide application engineering support and explain the features and benefits of the Thermo Scientific solution
Prepare and provide product presentations and trainings to customers
Prepare and deliver proof of concepts which meet customer business requirements and resolve any technical issue which may arise during the sales cycle
Work with technical support to resolve customer issues
Actively contribute and participate to internal initiatives regarding technical collaboration, data sharing and content production
Review documentation and participate in QA of new products and new releases before they are proposed to customers
Participate in preparing the content of technical materials and presentations
How Will You Get Here?
Master’s degree or equivalent plus two or more years as a pre-sales engineer
Image Processing and/or Machine Learning application-level knowledge is highly desirable
Experience or knowledge in imaging in Materials Research or Life Sciences
Experience with commercial or open-source software (Avizo, Amira, VG Studio Max, Simpleware Scan IP, Arivis, Bitplane Imaris, ORS DragonFly, ImageJ.),
Programming and scripting experience (C, .NET, Java, Python, MATLAB) will be preferred
Knowledge in one or more engineering or research field as listed in position description of imaging technology, such as 3D micro-Tomography, FIB/SEM, TEM microscopy, confocal microscopy would be a plus
Strong interpersonal skills
Organized and focused. Knows how to prioritize.
Experience in technical business development with commercial organizations is a plus
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 50%), possession of a valid passport.
