Description We are in search of a Project Assistant to join our team in the non-profit sector, located in Washington, District of Columbia. This role focuses primarily on translating Amharic documents. This is a short term contract employment opportunity that offers a unique chance to contribute to a meaningful mission.Responsibilities: Translate Amharic documents accurately and efficiently, ensuring the preservation of original meanings. Work closely with the team to understand the context and nuances of each document. Ensure the translated documents maintain the same format and structure as the original documents. Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. Collaborate with the team to resolve any potential issues or discrepancies in the translated documents. Conduct quality control checks on translated documents to ensure accuracy. Manage multiple translations simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and prioritizing tasks as needed. Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the translation process. Maintain an organized record of all translated documents. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in translation technology to improve efficiency and quality of work. Requirements Proven experience in a project assistant role within the non-profit sector Strong skills in translating documents and verbal communication Excellent organizational and time management abilities Proficient in the use of productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically Ability to work independently and take initiative when necessary Willingness to learn and adapt to new environments and challenges Commitment to the values and mission of the non-profit sector Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
