Description A business to business (B2B) collections specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the collection of outstanding debts from business clients. This is a specialized role that requires excellent communication, negotiation skills, and understanding of business operations and financial processes. Key responsibilities: Contacting business clients to follow up on unpaid invoices, negotiating payment plans, and maintaining records of all collection efforts. Evaluate customer's financial situations and negotiate terms of repayment based on the customer's capabilities. Facilitate credit checks for potential clients and assess credit risk. Providing regular updates and reports to management on collection activities and client account status. Ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws related to collections activities. Resolving queries and complaints related to unpaid invoices and debts in a detail oriented and timely manner. Contact businesses with overdue invoices and attempt to collect payments. Develop strategies to increase the effectiveness of B2B collection practices. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Understanding of collection and legal processes. Ability to assess credit risk and make informed decisions. Demonstrated ability to maintain a detail oriented demeanor during difficult conversations.
