Description Company Overview:Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing organization, recognized for their innovative approach and commitment to excellence. To support their continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join their finance team. This role is integral to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This is a contract position with potential for extension, offering the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.Position Overview:The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for a range of accounting duties including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and experience handling day-to-day accounting tasks in a fast-paced business environment.Key Responsibilities:General Ledger Maintenance:

Manage and update the general ledger to ensure accuracy of financial data.

Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.

Account Reconciliation:

Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, liabilities, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses.

Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and general ledger.

Accounts Payable and Receivable Support:

Assist with AP/AR functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer collections.

Ensure timely and accurate recording of all accounts payable/receivable transactions.

Month-End and Year-End Close:

Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing adjusting entries, reconciling accounts, and generating reports.

Assist in producing accurate and timely financial statements for management review.

Financial Reporting:

Assist in the preparation of financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Help provide documentation and reports during internal and external audits.

Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure adherence to accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies.

Maintain organized records and documentation for audit readiness.

Requirements

Qualifications:Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Experience in managing AP/AR functions is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formulas.

Familiarity with GAAP and standard accounting practices.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.

Work Environment:This position requires working on-site at the company’s headquarters.
