The moments we share in the air and on the ground with our customers and our colleagues make United a special place to work and a great way to fly, together.Key Responsibilities:Assistant Manager of International Flight Operations supports the Senior Manager – International Flight Operations in ensuring pilots have the information and tools they need to operate safely, comfortably, on-time, and efficiently around the world. Strong understanding of international relationships and regulatory environment.
Acts as a Flight Operations department liaison to the Airport Transformation team at the direction of the Senior Manager – International Flight Operations
Meets with local airport authorities, Air Navigation Service Providers, and vendors as necessary
Updates and maintains associated checklists as necessary
Completes appropriate portions of station start-up checklist to ensure all operational requirements are accomplished to conduct flight operations
Includes travel to new United destinations as part of the broader station start up team
Communicates information received from international agencies and stations with appropriate departments, divisions, and line pilots concerning changes relevant to the operation
Collaborates with the Manager - Flight Operations Manual and the Manager of International Flight Operations in the development and revision of operational policy, procedure, Flight Operations Manual, and World Operations Manual revisions
Update the Airport Authorization List for all fleets
Supports the management of the flight deck jumpseat program
Coordinates and processes non-flight qualified jumpseat approvals
Troubleshoots and tracks jumpseat inquiries concerning line pilots
Conducts a monthly audit of jumpseat usage
Organizes and moderates regular meetings at the direction of the Senior Manager – International Flight Operations
Participated tasks associated with FltOpsComm including editing, updating, and distributing Flight Operations communications

Bachelor's degree
2+ years of management or Line Operations Experience at an Airline or large innovative business required
Project Management and Strong communications Skills
Experience drafting, coordinating, vetting and distributing policy and procedural information
Regulatory compliance background - proven use of FARs, Advisory Circulars, SAFO, FAA Notices and other FAA documentation to develop policy and procedure
Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities intra-divisional and cross-divisional to assure the proper implementation of policy and procedure
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
Master's degree in Aviation/Airline Management
Experience in writing, managing, editing and revising corporate manuals
Military, commercial, private pilot experience
