The foundation of a connected world, it’s a network free of the limitations of the past, and flexible enough to satisfy all the social, economic and transformative needs of the changing world.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Device Hardware Engineer will work closely with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors/suppliers for chipset to evaluate and monitor RF OTA, RF Front End, Power ICs, and Battery. The position requires working with Chipsets/OEMs/3rd Party Labs to create an overall strategic technical vision and roadmap for DISH Wireless device RF, Front End, and power management features. We are looking for a Sr. Device Hardware Engineer with extensive wireless experience in 4G / 5G and a deep understanding of RF Front end and antenna design for smartphones and other connected devices, wearables, and mobile hotspots.Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership for RF OTA, Front End, and Power Management within DISH Wireless Device/Network organization

Create and manage 5G device requirements, test plans, and features for Antenna and Battery performance

Design, test, optimize, and implement compact antenna solutions for 5G Cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth, IEEE 802.15

Experience with regulatory processes (FCC, PTCRB, CTIA, GCF) and Device compliance certification for RF OTA (TRP/TIS) and SAR

Work closely with third-party testing vendors, OEMs, Network Engineering, and Roaming partners to align device/network performance with DISH Wireless objectives

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, cooperate in teams, and present to executive-level teams as needed

Skills, Experience and RequirementsEducation and Experience:

Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Telecommunications Engineering

5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, system design and product development for smartphones, feature phones, tablets, hotspots, and IOT devices throughout the product life cycle

2+ years of experience in cellular product network certification on network-specific configurations (e.g. DNN/APN, eSIM), network features testing (e.g. RF conformance and parametric testing, VoNR, RCS, iMessage, Facetime, RCS, roaming) and OSS/BSS integration

Skills and Qualifications:

Collaborate with OEMs and Product Managers to analyze, research, and document technical requirements for new product features (e.g., eSIM, iSIM, VoNR, VoLTE, VoWiFi, 5G) and develop Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), Device Requirements, and Test Plans.

Provide technical expertise in wireless technologies, including IMS, 5G, LTE, 3G, VoLTE, and WiFi Calling, along with L2/L3 protocols such as MAC, RLC, PDCP, SDAP, and control signaling.

Design and analyze E2E call flows, including handover support across EPS, 5GC, VoNR, EPS Fallback, and N3IWF/ATSS/ANDSP.

Proficient in IMS, SMS, MMS, supplementary calls, and VoWiFi, with experience in ACS and MDM systems, and data models like TR-69, TR-369, TR-181.

Collaborate with Product Manager, Core, IT, and RAN Engineering teams to understand the Enterprise Device roadmap and its impact on network systems.

Travel 10-20% of the time for feature alignment with vendors, device feature validation, testing modem features, and participating in debugging sessions.
