The Role:
As the Preconstruction Manager, you will support the Design and Production team to get signed projects off the ground in a timely manner that our customer’s expect, leading to successful execution of residential and commercial remodeling projects. You possess the professional capability to assist both the Lead Designer, Project Managers, and our Customers ensuring they make all of the right material selections. You will take a newly signed job, review the architectural drawings, provide sketches if needed, submit zoning and building permits as required, assist the Lead Designer in customer facing and facilitate material selections, purchase customer selected materials, track budgets, and assign a JR Project Manager to execute the project. The Preconstruction Manager reports to the General Manager.
Responsibilities:
● Facilitates the handoff from the Sr Project Manager/Sales to the Designer
● Client Facing including sending out the initial New Client Welcome email and Design Questionnaire
● Scheduling and participating in the initial Design Meeting
● Follow up on material selections ensuring all material are selected before project commencement
● Gathering all necessary information and filing zoning and building permits
● Produces sketches and review construction drawings
● Create Project Manuals consisting of layouts, cut sheets, material info and manuals, and other job-related information
● Place orders for selected materials and produce allowance reconciliation with Accounts Payable Department
● Receive and organize job materials
● Assist with project coordination and follow-up on action items
Who You Are:
You are someone with in depth knowledge of the residential construction industry, a previous foreman or General Contractor looking to join a team, an organized self-starter with confidence to get the job done. Your time management skills enable you to balance multiple projects at a time. You are a quick learner and enjoy working in a team environment. You recognize the importance of maintaining and enhancing a company’s public-facing image.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
● 5 + years experience as an administrative assistant in an office environment
● Experience in managing Kitchen, Bathroom, Interior, and Exterior Home Improvement Projects.
● Reviewing and understanding Architectural Drawings.
● Understanding of the building process, building components, and building code.
● Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team
● 5 + years of construction experience
