We specialize in selling and servicing automotive shop equipment. Based in Santa Ana, our mobile repair force services automotive shops ranging from small mom-and-pop garages to large dealerships throughout the greater Southern California area.
We are looking to add to our technician team by hiring an Equipment Technician Trainee.
Job Overview
Once trained, the Equipment Technician is responsible for traveling to onsite locations to diagnose, repair, and service automotive shop equipment independently. As a trainee, you’ll be led through an extensive program to learn all the required functions of the job. While preferred, no prior mechanic experience or automotive equipment knowledge is required.
The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working with their hands, has experience interacting directly with customers, and has strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. This position is for you if you’re ready to dedicate time to learn the ins and outs of automotive shop equipment, you take pride in your work, and you have the ability to achieve results with little supervision.
Job Details
Works closely with senior technicians to learn how to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of equipment used in automotive repair shops
Diagnosis and repairs of automotive equipment issues
Performs routine maintenance on a variety of auto shop equipment
Evaluates daily schedule to prioritize assignments and ensure end-of-day completion
Loads vehicles with the proper tools, parts, and equipment for assigned jobs
Drives company vehicle to client locations to perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance activities
Keeps assigned vehicle clean and notifies management of all service needs
Interacts with clients onsite to gather information and communicate updates
Prepares invoices and collects payment while onsite with clients
Performs other duties as assigned
Starting pay $17 - $18 per hour
Requirements
· Valid driver’s license
· Clean driving record
· Ability to bend, stoop, squat, climb, twist, turn and reach out
Climb ladders
· Ability to lift 50 pounds
· Ability to troubleshoot
· Skilled at time management
· Strong decision-making skills
· Full-time position
· Hours: 7:30 am to 4 pm
· Monday through Friday
· Optional overtime when available
