This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.FunctionsTranscribes medical data, such as clinic notes, physician reports, medical summaries, manuscripts, memos, grants, teaching syllabi, and forms. Reviews and edits transcribed reports or dictated material for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology. Performs a variety of clerical and office tasks such as handling incoming and outgoing mail, completing and submitting insurance claims, typing, filing and operating office machines. Receives patients, schedules appointments, and maintains patient records. Performs other duties as assigned.DimensionsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of standard transcription techniques and procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to spell and use business English.
