Assistant for sculptor working on large scale sculptures

The ideal applicant will have experience in:

Sculpture fabrication or construction work

MIG Welding

You don't have to have all the above experience, but be competent handling power tools.

The job requires cutting and handling stone and bricks, cutting and welding steel on a large scale.

I don’t expect everyone to be knowledgeable in all areas; there will be a learning process on the job.

Must be:

safety conscious.

organized

able to work independently as well as follow directions and work collaboratively.

punctual and reliable.

Work takes place in the studio however you must be willing to travel a couple of times a year for on site installation that can take up to two weeks.

Work can be either part-time or full-time, depending on the applicant's availability

Studio hours are 9 – 5pm, Monday through Friday with a one hour break for lunch. Studio located in Long Island City.

Job Types: Full-time or Part-time

Salary: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour, on the books, depending on knowledge and experience.

Salary will increase with time as applicant gains familiarity.
