As the Lead Carpenter you are a natural leader who motivates your team, loves to teach, and keeps everyone on task. You are highly skilled in residential remodeling structural, framing, and finish carpentry. You are an experienced bags-on carpenter who is detail-oriented and well organized. You can easily follow architectural and design plans to set up your crew with tasks that match their skills, line out subs, and provide all layouts from framing to plumbing to electrical and trim. You take pride in quality craftsmanship, enjoy working with clients, and feel a sense of ownership over each of your projects. You work as a team with the Project Manager and Superintendent to create weekly schedules and manage all aspects of your jobsites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to)

- Lead and motivate the team and crew on your job site(s).

- Maintain and enforce clean, organized, and safe working areas throughout the day.

- Full and complete knowledge of reading blueprints and easily be able to line out and layout every portion of the project.

- 2-week look-a-heads and schedule planning with Superintendent and Project Manager.

- Scheduling subcontractors with 2 and 4 week notice to ensure we are scheduled.

- Weekly or Bi-weekly team schedule planning with Super and PM.

- Create material lists ahead of the schedule for delivery to job sites or for pick up and ensure they are accurate and of good quality.

- Work with project manager to review specs and selections and request information if needed.

- Be organized and ready to work on time to direct your team.

- Great communication skills and willing to ask questions when unsure of instructions or plans.

- Working with clients to ensure they know the schedule and answering questions.

- Ensuring anything and everything outside of the scope of work is put into change orders.

- Apply and enforce OSHA safety rules and regulations.

- Ensure your site safety box is fully stocked.

- Ensure safe storage space for finish materials, hardware, and accessories.

QUALIFICATIONS

- MUST be able to show work history that includes residential remodeling from framing to finish. We will NOT respond to any applicants who do not provide a work history that reflects these carpentry skills.

- Must have minimum of 10+ years as a skilled Journeyman Carpenter in residential remodeling.

- Must have minimum of 3+ years experience as a Site Lead/Foreman/ in general RESIDENTIAL construction.

- Blueprint/plan reading Yoda! You got the skills to pick up any plans and understand how to do the layouts and takeoffs. - Most importantly, you know if something is missing and what questions to ask.

- A natural leader who can motivate, teach, and collaborate with the Rhino crew and subs.

- Professional and positive attitude and appearance.

- Knowledge of proper sequence of construction and experience with all phases of rough and finish carpentry

- Knowledge and experience with OSHA safety standards on job sites.

- Ability to plan, organize, schedule, prioritize, and communicate.

- Ability to take direction when needed, but mostly we hope you want to take hold of a project and run with it. We'd rather have you tell us how you want to do things.

- Computer and mobile app literate to work with project management tools for scheduling and job logs

- Willingness to learn and grow as well as ability to teach

- Ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and other professionals

- Ability to provide outstanding customer service and maintain positive client relationships

- Professional attitude and appearance.

- Reliable, on time to work, with clean and professional appearance.

- Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including lifting 60+ lbs

- Tools should include all basic hand tools and power tools customarily owned by carpenter

- Must have own reliable transportation and valid WA state driver’s license

Please note starting pay will depend on your experience and may go up within 90 days depending on your demonstrated ability. Health Benefits are available on the 1st of the month after your start date. 401K is available after 3 months.
