Securities Research Assistant - Plaintiffs Law Firm
Lieff Cabraser Heimann and Bernstein, LLP (“LCHB”), a national leader in plaintiffs’ class action and multidistrict litigation, has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Securities Research Assistant to support its Securities & Financial Fraud Practice Group by conducting factual and legal research relating to securities and financial fraud litigation matters. The Research Assistant will also handle investor inquiries and assist attorneys in providing securities portfolio monitoring services to the firm’s institutional investor clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
High attention to detail and organization, strong research, communication, proofreading, and computer skills, and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Minimum qualifications:
Ability to produce time sensitive written draft reports that provide organized facts and correctly cite relevant sources.
Ability to conduct research on industries, corporations, and government bodies from a variety of public sources, such as: Westlaw, Federal and state court dockets, and financial markets - including the stock market.
Advanced knowledge of excel and financial markets, ability to proof read and fact check legal and other documents.
Must have the ability to perform a variety of tasks, establish priorities, give attention to detail, and meet deadlines. Strong systems and organizational skills required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
B.A./B.S. degree required
1-3 years of financial assistant experience or other financial markets research-related work experience.
Prior work experience in a securities law firm, financial institution, financial legal department or other financial professional services firm is strongly preferred. Financial markets background is a plus.
