Summary About the Position: This position is located at Fort Belvoir, VA. Responsibilities Direct and manage assigned personnel in accomplishing the mission and functions of an Aviation Maintenance Company. Apply knowledge of methods, techniques, procedures, planning, tools, and practices of the occupations supervised. Analyze work plans developed by subordinate supervisors and leaders for accomplishment of assigned work. Participate with higher level management and staff organizations in interpreting changing environmental requirements to include work techniques, specification changes, equipment modernization, facility requirements and improved workflow processes. Evaluate work operations and review completed work and administrative requirements to ensure work standards are met. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor (Chief) without more than normal supervision. Analyzing work plans; establishing effective production plans; developing plans for aircraft maintenance; directing a variety of work operations engaged in the fabrication and/or repair of a wide variety of rotary wing aircraft components. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Lead or Supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Material and Maintenance Management Career Field position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
