JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The part-time marketing communications specialist, editor, is part of the Creative Services team in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences' Marketing Unit and is responsible for editing and prooing educational publications, marketing communications, and various other messaging for the college and Penn State Extension.A primary function is providing quality assurance and consistency for marketing content targeting key audiences including current and future students, parents, alumni, industry partners, key stakeholders, and current and potential customers. A secondary function of this position is to collaborate with authors and colleagues to produce print and digital long- and short-format educational materials. This position upholds university and college editorial standards.Typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher plus two or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills, attention to detail, a dedication to quality and client service, and an enduring appreciation for diverse audiences. The position requires the ability to manage complex projects to successful completion in a timely manner.The successful candidate will have proven experience in editing and prooing and have an expert command of the English language. Preference will be given to candidates highly familiar with Chicago style. This position primarily uses—and the successful candidate must be proficient in—the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.A background in, or experience with, agricultural subject matter is a plus.A resume and cover letter must be attached to the application, including, if possible, links to published content edited by the candidate.
