Windhorse Integrative Mental Health, a small non-profit founded in 1993, is seeking two housemates, each to live with one of our clients in a 2 bedroom apt in Portland, OR. Windhorse is a semi-residential therapeutic community that uses a mindfulness and relationship-based philosophy in working with individuals experiencing health issues such as depression, psychosis and trauma. The two available opportunities are slightly different; read below for more details.

General Job Description:A housemate’s role is to co-habitate in a two-bedroom apartment with a client and share one meal together per day. Housemates may be in school or have a part time day job outside the home. A generous level of support and training is offered by our senior staff for this position—it is a great opportunity for those who feel an affinity toward psychology, counseling or social work and would like to gain direct experience in the field.

Housemate #1: To live with a male client currently in substance abuse recovery. Ideal candidate has experience and/or a personal history with the substance abuse recovery journey. About 3hrs per day spent connecting with client and 4hrs per week for various meetings.

Housemate #2: To live with a female client who will need a bit of extra support with daily living activities (cooking, cleaning, shopping). About 4hrs per day spent connecting with client and 4hrs per week for various meetings. Due to the increase in hours spent, role includes benefits (health, dental, vision, life).

Benefits:

- Free lodging

- $600 monthly stipend for food and household items

- $15.95 per hour, biweekly pay amount depends on hours assigned

- Ongoing training and support from senior staff

- 3 paid nights off per month; one paid week off per six months

We ask a minimum of 6-months commitment to this position.
