We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Parts Counter/Warehouse position! Here is some of what you’ll do… POSITION SUMMARY:Under the general direction of the Pacific Region Parts Manager, the Parts Counter/Warehouse position is responsible for filling orders, stocking the warehouse, and selling parts to customers. The Parts Counter/Warehouse position performs clerical and back order functions. The Parts Counter/Warehouse position makes hydraulic hose assemblies, inspects cores, and conducts inventory. ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Receives parts orders from walk-in, telephone, and email customers and provides excellent customer service. Orders may be received by part number, description, or both.
Verifies and confirms correct part numbers, specific models, and serial numbers match up properly.
Prepares and completes cash deposits, deposit slips, and cash sheets and prepares daily reports for accounting.
Handles parts claim documents and inputs claims in the Caterpillar Antares system.
Ensures that the Parts cash account is always up to date, all collections are made, and no invoices are written off due to non-payment.
Prepares the Customer Order Action Pending report weekly and takes action on past due back orders and documents.
Restocks warehouse with incoming parts and customer returns, ensures all parts are properly labeled and stored, and records all discrepancies.
Ensures that all items leaving the warehouse are properly recorded on parts documents or other control documents with proper signatures.
Completes inventory counts.
Inspects returned cores and issues proper credits based on Caterpillar core guidelines.
Prepares the Core Credit Request forms and shipping documents and ships cores to Caterpillar.
Coordinates follow up and credits with Caterpillar representatives to ensure timely and appropriate credits are received.
Operates material handling equipment suck as a forklift, pallet jacks, etc. to move goods safely and properly.
Makes occasional pickups and deliveries.
Makes hydraulic hose assemblies according to Caterpillar specifications, handling re-useable and conversion fittings.
Performs daily housekeeping duties to ensure a neat and safe work environment throughout the warehouse.
Adheres to all company safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have at least 1 year experience in a customer service role, preferably a service shop or parts department.
Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.
Must have PC skills.
Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
Must be forklift certified or able to be certified within 60 days.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Walking: Moves about on foot, often through uneven terrain.
Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.
Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts and tools.
Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
Climbing: In and out of equipment.
Vision: Reads and completes paperwork on the computer.
Talking: Communicates by phone and in person.
Sitting: Sits in equipment and vehicles for extended periods.
Lifting: Lifts up to 60lbs. daily, frequent exertion.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
Temp/Weather: Works in a warehouse environment with variations of temperature and weather.
Exposure: Subject to foul odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
