Idaho Centra Arena Facility Maintenance Technician

This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join a close knit team that works in the entertainment and sports venue environment. The Arena Facility Maintenance Technician will facilitate the maintenance needs of the Idaho Central Arena and assist the Operations Manager in directing, and coordinating the activities of the Operations team members to ensure safe, efficient, and economic function of the facilities and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform a wide range of facility based operational activities and maintenance on recreational facilities and lands.

Perform maintenance and general repairs on vehicles and equipment. (Including but not limited to, daily inspections, cleaning, greasing and minor repairs.)

Perform mechanical and technical maintenance of ice resurfacing equipment, refrigeration systems, heating and ventilation systems and filtration systems.

Operate tools/equipment, vehicles, and the ice resurfacer in a safe and appropriate manner.

Conduct various safety inspections and promote safe working practices.

Maintain various logs and records including daily vehicle and equipment usage and progress reports.

Work with the Operations Manager to create and implement maintenance procedures and schedules.

Monitor equipment stock and place orders for new supplies as needed.

Maintain effective, professional, courteous and respectful communications with supervisors, other staff, and the general public.

Skills and Abilities / Work Demands:

Physical ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50lbs, independently or assisted; to walk, stand, sit, lift from floor to waist, lift from waist to shoulder, climb stairs, and climb ladders and any other physical ability required to perform assigned duties.

Demonstrated ability to operate small tools/equipment and light duty vehicles in a proficient manner.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Functional computer skills, including the ability to use an email or web browser application.

Ability to complete various forms and other basic written communications.

Ability to receive and comprehend instructions; work in a team environment; interact positively with supervisors, other staff, and the general public; as well as support and project values compatible with the organization.

Working knowledge of HVAC, and arena industrial refrigeration is preferred.

Demonstrated carpentry and/or plumbing skills are considered an asset.

Knowledge of Provincial legislation and regulation including the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and related on-the-job training (e.g. Safe Ice Resurfacer Operator, Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Propane Handling, WHMIS, First Aid & CPR).

Required Education / Work Experience:

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.

A minimum of 2 years of related work experience.

Must have a continuous drive and passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests, employees, tenants, and teams.
