Job Posting: Contract Management LeadState Teachers' Retirement SystemJC-448911-Contract Management LeadINFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST I$6,323.00 - $10,230.00 per MonthFinal Filing Date: 9/26/2024Job Description and DutiesThe CalSTRS Technology Services Branch is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Information Technology Specialist I in the Pension Solution Division.The Technology Services Branch is committed to providing quality and timely technical support and services to the organization. Technology Services provides resources to successfully meet the technical demands of the organization.The Pension Solution project was chartered to replace CalSTRS’ legacy pension administration system, START. START is the custom-built pension administration system that CalSTRS currently uses to manage and administer the State Teachers’ Retirement Plan for employers, members, participants, and their beneficiaries. The Pension Solution Project is one of the most significant projects in the history of CalSTRS. The new Pension Solution will incorporate the current functions supported in START including, contribution reporting and collections, crediting service, member demographic information maintenance, service credit purchases, benefit application processing, benefit calculation, benefit payroll, third-party deductions and disbursements, tax reporting, receivables and collections, correspondence and statement generation, and event tracking. The enhanced systems will offer increased flexibility as business and technologies evolve allowing us to better meet our members’ growing needs.Under the direction of the Pension Solution Project Administration Manager (Staff Services Manager III), the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I; Contract Management Lead) demonstrates leadership in identifying new issues and business opportunities and in assisting management with the most sensitive contract issues. The ITS I, acting in the capacity of a Contract Management Lead, will be the primary point of contact performing the most complex and difficult tasks involved in the processing, selection, approval, and tracking of all Pension Solution project contracts. The incumbent will identify and track delivery of contract terms, monitor progress towards and validate the completion of project milestones, and shepherd deliverables and other contractual work products to ensure appropriate development, implementation, and execution in accordance with PS governance protocols and contractual terms.The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Experience serving as a Contracts Analyst or equivalent role a an IT project or within a public sector program that involves IT contracts.

Experience working with or developing tracking mechanisms and establishing standard for quality reviews.

Experience as a team member or lead on an IT project.

Experience leading multidisciplinary workgroups to resolve business problems.

Experience assessing work products and procedures for compliance with standards, accounting principles, and internal controls.

Experience with state of California vendor management processes and best practices in a multi-vendor project environment.

Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.Telework Information: CalSTRS offers a hybrid approach including in-office and remote work solutions with staff working on-site at our Headquarters in West Sacramento 2 days per week.Does this opportunity seem right for you?
