Caregiver position
Pennsylvania, Philadelphia , 19113 Philadelphia USA

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I am a physically challenged adult male in search of a caring energetic individual to assist me with daily living activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a CNA, HHA, any individual currently studying health sciences (nursing student, physician assistant student, PT or OT student, medical student) or any caring individual. No prior experience necessary.

A bit about my background - I sustained a life altering spinal cord injury playing hockey my freshman year in college. As a result, I am a C5 quadriplegic. I have two brothers, and a sister. I was an active young person and participated in several sports growing up. However, my true passion was playing hockey. I graduated high school in June of 88, and left home for Merrimack College in Andover Massachusetts with aspirations of playing collegiate hockey. After successfully walking on to the Merrimack College hockey team, my life took a dramatic turn at practice on the afternoon of November 3, 1988. While participating in a shooting drill, I was tripped and crashed headfirst into the boards, shattering my fourth cervical vertebrae. I spent four months in acute care at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and four months at Magee Rehab. I returned home from the hospital in late June of 1989. I matriculated to St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia; graduating in May of 1993 with a BA in Economics and Philosophy. I began teaching in the fall of 1994. I simultaneously continued my academic career and earned an MBA in Finance from Villanova University. Currently, I work as an adjunct of instructor of economics at Saint Joseph’s University. Beyond my occupational responsibilities, I have an active social life and participate in a variety of activities with friends and family. I am an avid sports fan and a tremendous supporter of live music. I live in East Norriton, but spend a good deal of the summer down the shore in Avalon.

Typically, I am higher individuals to assist me two days per week. For example: Wednesday at 6:00 PM until Friday at 6:00 PM or Friday at 6:00 PM until Sunday at 6:00 PM. The position requires candidates to remain with me over the two days. This is an excellent opportunity for any motivated, caring person looking for meaningful summer employment. As a C5 quadriplegic, I need assistance with all activities of daily living. However, the position does not involve any level of skilled nursing care. Beyond the care aspect of the position, I am searching for an energetic individual with a positive outlook on life. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license. I will be happy to answer questions and discuss the details of the position over a zoom interview. Compensation for the position will be discussed during the zoom interview. I appreciate you taking the time to read this correspondence. Interested parties should respond with full name, phone number, basic biographical information including educational background and occupational history and a brief description of why you would be a good candidate for this position. Thanks
