Empire Chinese Kitchen Hiring Bartender

Empire Chinese Kitchen seeks to add a part-time or full-time bartender to our front of house team.

Candidates:

Thanks to our team-centered culture, the most important quality is the desire to be a part of a team who will support you as much as you do them. 2+ years experience bartending and Portland restaurant experience is preferred. Priority will be given to people who already come with multi-position knowledge.

Availability:

We are flexible and able to accommodate most schedules. At least one weekend day is preferred.

Compensation:

$14.15/hourly plus tips

Training is paid. We offer a competitive hourly wage, plus tips. Staff also enjoy food discounts and free entry to comedy/performance/music shows at Empire Comedy Club.

Work environment:

Our bartenders make drinks for 14 bar seats, 46 dining room seats, and occasional standing guests on our busiest nights. We are a casual atmosphere serving upscale Cantonese soul food. Our kitchen is small and mighty, and turns out high-quality, authentic Chinese small plates, dumplings, and stir-fry. Our current FOH team and ideal candidates are efficient, cooperative, and non-competitive. We value high standards of customer service, and constructive and open communication.

Hours:

We are open for lunch and dinner 6 days a week.

Lunch shifts are 10:30am-4pm and dinner shifts are roughly 4-10pm.
