Line Cook Position at Vegos

Vegos is hiring a Line Cook/Dishwasher! We are seeking energetic hard working folks who are passionate about food and who are very team focused. Vegos is home to a growing customer base of vegans and non-vegans alike. We are seeking a positive individual who is strong at multi-tasking, works with a sense of urgency, and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Position: Line Cook/Dishwashing

Pay: $16+ per hour (includes hourly and tips)

4-5 days a week.

Friday and Saturdays are a must

Approx 20-30 hrs per week

Employee Perks

Duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to:​

Prior cook experience 6 month minimum

Knowledgable about food allergens

Cooking to order

Assemble meals to order

Must be comfortable using an iPad

Must be able to read orders/tickets

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Lifting 10-50lbs

Must be able to multi-task

Ability to work well under pressure

Work speedy and with a sense of urgency

Basic knife skills

Filling orders, restocking the line, prepping future product

Follow FIFO procedure

Working with team to achieve a timely customer order

Reading tickets/orders and bagging items efficiently

Communicate with fellow team members on ticket progress/modifications/ETA

Able to work in extreme weather and temperatures (hot and cold conditions)

Ability to work in small spaces

Be open to take on new roles and help when needed (become cross trained)

Must be a team player

Must be ok wearing gloves throughout shift

Practice good personal hygiene

Food handlerscertificate is required if hired

Must have reliable transportation

Clean up at the end of shift, includes cleaning the kitchen, sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, dishes etc

A little about us:

Vegos started as a tent and table operation serving at the Railyards farmers market in 2019. In 2020 we moved into a food trailer and started selling at various local breweries and coffee shops. In 2020 we placed 3rd for best foodtruck and 2nd for best chef by Albuquerque Magazine. In September 2021 we opened our doors as a restaurant and won 1st place as Best Food Truck in New Mexico by Edible magazine. In 2022 we made it in the top 10 list for best Restaurants in Albuquerque and in 2022 and 2023 we won best Vegan Restaurant by Albuquerque the Magazine. We are looking for folks who are just as motivated and passionate about this business as we are. As we continue to grow we hope you will grow with us!
