Provides a high level of customer service in a manner consistent with our Mission and Goals. Responsible for coordination, distribution, and follow-up of referrals to the assigned department. Collaborates with Patients, team members and physicians to maintain a high level of efficiency in operations while providing quality care. Works with patients to resolve scheduling and access related issues.Required Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
Medical office experience required with a strong emphasis in customer service, computer skills, and phones or completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program.
Essential Functions
Clinic operationsProcesses all incoming referrals for the assigned department following established procedures and within standard timeframes. Assures that all requests and related information are expeditiously processed within appropriate guidelines.Schedules consults with the correct visit type and approved clinical criteria, provides patients with accurate appointment information, updates patient information, and seeks assistance when necessary.Provides accurate information to all customers including patients, physicians, co-workers and visitors and maintains a variety of office support activities.Generates and updates referral report log. Monitors the report for accuracy, trends, and informs Lead, Supervisor, or Manager as appropriate. Ensures all referrals to the department have been provided an appointment.Follows established procedures to assure proper information is provided in a timely manner to the requestor and patients regarding the status of the referral.Demonstrate flexibility in accepting new assignments and assists in other clinical areas as needed.Using a keyboard, required to type proficiently and accurately.As a Key User, make appropriate daily physician schedule changes.

CommunicationResponds to all phone calls within 3 rings and answers with name and department.Asks before placing a caller on hold, waits for a response and checks back with the caller and offers alternatives.Uses a pleasant voice.Is helpful and knowledgeable and thanks the caller at the end of the call.Returns phone messages according to established guidelines based on message documentation.
Patient accountsMonitors accounts to ensure financial eligibility criteria are met.Advises patient of responsibility.
