The Material Handler is responsible for moving materials throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will have prior Material Handling experience, be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Perform manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies
Counts weight or measures incoming/outgoing items comparing information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other identifying records
Ensure product meets standards, is not damaged, or there are no shortages and communicates with the shipper to rectify any deficiencies
Operates equipment including but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies require to move or reorganize storage
Responsible to ensure cargo is secured properly and safely with weight evenly distributed for transport
Drive company vehicle when necessary
Fills orders and issues materials and supplies per requests, documents transactions appropriately, prepares requisitions and computes costs, keeps records of storeroom inventory
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's licence and clean driver's abstract
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment performing repetitive tasks
Ability to find information, document relevant information, and knowledge of computers
Ability to retain information and communicate effectively
Ability to lift up to 23kg (50lbs)
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid forklift and overhead crane certificates are an asset
1-3 years’ experience in a production environment
