OverviewBowhead seeks a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the Program Office for Logistics Integrated Information Systems – Marine Corps (LI2S-MC) in Stafford, VA. The Systems Engineer will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and lead or collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity personnel, logisticians, and program analysts within a scaled agile environment.The Systems Engineer will assist in the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. They will also participate in the integration of network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices through system specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance support. They will consider overall project design including cost, schedule, and social issues that may be associated with a project.Responsibilities Provide technical support for engineering development activities. Tasks include oversight of technical efforts to ensure project objectives are being met in a timely fashion, evaluate proposed designs to ensure technical merit in meeting project requirements. Planning and execution of systems engineering technical processes and technical management processes - including decision analysis, technical planning, technical assessment, requirements management, risk management, configuration management, technical data management, and interface management. Assist in the planning and execution of systems engineering technical reviews (SETR) events and tracking the completion of action items. Requires excellent communication skills both oral and written. Experience providing Systems Engineering expertise in enterprise level environments. Experience with Agile and knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Knowledge and understanding of enterprise systems and services technologies to include large scale systems and OS, software and applications, AD, SAN/WAN technologies, Windows Server environments, Server Virtualization, Commercial Cloud Services.Qualifications A BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. MA/MS degree preferred. 4-10 years of professional experience Experience with Navy or Marine Corps programs preferred. Proven ability to work on high visible or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently. Ability to manage the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific task. Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team or perform independently.SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must favorably pass a Public Trust background investigation.
