Manufacturing Production Assistant
Sonoma wood working shop seeking production assistant in wood parts manufacturing focused on the assembly, preparation, and quality assurance of wood products manufacturing and general shop labor. We make wood parts for acoustic stringed instrument makers around the world.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
Assembly and Production: Operate woodworking machines such as saws, milling machines, and sanders to cut and shape wooden parts.
Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Material Handling: Sort and stack wood products and move materials or completed products to designated locations.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
Shop tidiness: Cleaning, organizing, inventory and waste management. Daily and weekly participation of shop cleanup and maintenance.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment while operating machinery. Understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
Skills and Qualifications:
Attention to Detail: High level of dexterity and attention to detail to ensure precision in cutting and assembling wood parts.
Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues. English fluency. Must be able to follow instructions and work independently, and with the team, on assigned tasks.
Physical Stamina: Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods. Best suited for those who are willing to be on their feet most of the day.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with operating various woodworking machines and tools. Basic math and measuring skills are a requirement. Experience with woodworking machinery is preferred.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing or woodworking environment is beneficial.
