Summary About the Position: You will perform as a Records and Information Management Specialist to provide technical, program and analytical expertise in the operation and management of the Army Records and Information Management (RIM) Program and its component core programs. Responsibilities Formulate records and information management policy for the organization and developing plans for policy implementation. Record keeping as it pertains to records creation, use, retrieval and maintenance using those techniques and technologies. Analyze Records and Information Management Program (RIM) business processes, providing recommendations, and implementing adjustments and changes to improve workflow and create efficiencies by making use of automated tools, systems and technology. Conducting feasibility studies and preparation of requirement definitions Providing analysis, evaluation, design, and technical guidance for the implementation of technology. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes(1) Implementing district information/knowledge management (KM) initiatives such as records/file management and office symbol management, (2) Implementing information management controls to improve efficiency of life-cycle management of records and documents, (3) Developing long-term strategies, operational process, plans and/or feasibility studies; (4) Serving as Project Manager for information/knowledge management related project delivery teams (PDT), or (5) Providing analysis, findings, recommendations to improve business, administrative or technical operations, process, and/or workflows. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job at the GS-12 grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information Management Leadership Teaching Others Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
