Job Title: Morning Sous Chef (Prep)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Morning Sous Chef to join our team at an upscale Mexican seafood restaurant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for prepping high-quality ingredients during the day to ensure a seamless and exceptional dinner service. The role requires a strong knowledge of Mexican cuisine, precision in preparation, and the ability to work independently during morning hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily prep for the dinner service, including seafood, salsas, sauces, and other components.
- Ensure ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepped to exacting standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to execute the evening’s menu with precision.
- Assist with inventory management and stock ordering.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are strictly followed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a sous chef or line cook, preferably in upscale or seafood-focused restaurants.
- Strong understanding of Mexican cuisine, particularly seafood dishes.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently during morning shifts.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.

Requirements:
Minimum 5 years restaurant experience in kitchen
Experience in Mexican Cooking
Understanding of proper NYC DOH sanitation standards
Positive attitude in the workplace, with a willingness to follow directions
Ability to work/stand for 8-10 hours a day and to carry up to 20lbs occasionally
