Merchandise Stocker (Job Fair Participant 9/24/24)
This is a Full Time Seasonal Position. This position is from Now through 1/10/2025.Must be at least 18 years of age.Summary:As aMerchandise Stocker, youll be responsible for making sure the shelves of your shop are always filled with all kinds of amazing items for our guests to purchase. Youll retrieve boxes from our warehouse and deliver them to your shop, then help display the items so guests can browse what Silver Dollar City has to offer. You will be climbing ladders and flights of stairs with various types of freight, some of which can weigh up to 100 pounds. While this is more of a behind-the-scenes role, you will be required to run a cash register and provide excellent customer service when you are on the sales floor.Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following, though other duties may be assigned:
Assists guests by answering questions, providing product information, and being available for related services.
Utilize main points of our Customer Service Program to provide excellent customer service.
Stocks shelves, counters, and/or tables with merchandise.
Sets up displays and/or arranges merchandise to promote sales.
Records delivery of merchandise compares record with merchandise ordered, and reports discrepancies to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels.
Inspects merchandise to ensure that it is correctly priced and displayed. Marks or tags price on merchandise.
Obtains merchandise requested by customer.
Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
Compute sale prices, total purchases, receive and process cash or credit payments and balancing of cash drawer utilizing a POS system.
Ensure proper handling of customer credit card information in compliance with Property Procedures and Purchasing Card Industry (PCI) standards.
Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.
Keep work area clean and neat and promptly report mechanical problems.
Inform immediate supervisor of stock shortages and shrinkage problems.
Perform all job duties in a reasonable and safe manner for both guests and fellow team members.
Keeps record of sales, prepares inventory of stock, and orders supplies.
Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
Education/Experience:One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferredQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
