SummaryThe Pueblo Pre-Collegiate Program Assistant at the Pre-Collegiate Support and Success Center (PCSSC) of the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) is a part-time, in-person position based at Pueblo Community College in Pueblo, Colorado . This position plays a vital role in supporting middle and high school scholars in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, particularly those who are first-generation, low-income, and military-dependent, as they pursue their postsecondary goals.To excel in this role, the ability to work independently and demonstrate self-sufficiency is crucial. The assistant must be capable of taking initiative, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and effectively organizing program logistics. A key component of the job is the strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, which is essential for creating promotional materials, tracking and analyzing data, and maintaining clear communication channels with students, families, and stakeholders. Mastery of Microsoft Office tools ensures efficient management of tasks, such as developing flyers, handling correspondence, and managing databases, which are all critical forthe successful execution of the program's objectives.Essential FunctionsThe duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Working part-time, in-person at the Pueblo Community College Pre-Collegiate office located in Pueblo, Colorado.

Assists in the creation of age-appropriate and culturally responsive programming for scholars and families.

Takes program ideas and creates events, then follows up with evaluation and data tracking. Establishes working relationships with a group of scholars to convey program information and activities and mentors them from the start of the program through high school graduation.

Organizes logistics for and participates in scholar and family programming, Summer Academic Institute, Bridge Program, Recruitment and Outreach events, large scale, and alumni events.

Manages lists of scholars, including updating contact information, tracking meeting and workshop RSVPs, registrations, and attendance and ensures these are accurately entered in a database (e.g., CoBro).

Provides on and off-site support for programming, including some evening and weekend events, virtual events, and summer programs.

Assists with collecting reports and feedback regarding the effectiveness of the programs.

Secures a variety of postsecondary, community and business resources as well as guest speakers/facilitators who can conduct activities and workshops for up to eighty middle school and high school youth.

Actively collaborates with the PCDP team to support our mission and vision during the year and during the Summer Academic Institute.

The position is 45% supporting scholar activities, 20% coordinating logistics and transportation, 20% community and scholar outreach, and 5% other duties as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience and currently pursuing or completing a bachelor's degree.

One or more years in student services or clerical experience.

Experience in event planning.

Experience advocating for diverse youth in a culturally responsive, strengths-based setting.

Experience working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.

Extensive proven experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).

Valid Driver's License.

Proficiency in skills-based assessment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Experience in Parent Outreach or Programming

Experience with program management systems (e.g. BAND, ASANA)

Experience in program planning, laws and regulations for working with minors, and working in a team environment with professional staff and young adults.
