ResponsibilitiesJob Summary / PurposeResponsibilities include managing daily affairs including direct supervision of all secretarial staff. The coordinator ensuresall patients’ charts are up to date with the current H&P and other pertinent reports. This position oversees that chartrounds information is gathered and printed weekly. This position is responsible for auditing and reviewing of patientscharges as well as the oversight of others doing the same. The position includes maintenance of completed departmentfiles. Patient scheduling and registration.Essential Key Job Responsibilities
Reviews and audits all charts in completion of treatment, verifying the accuracy of charges and correct treatment
documentation.
Keys in all charges and revisits made by the Cancer Center on a daily basis.
Provides back up to staff who interview and register each new radiation oncology patient, obtaining financial and
medical information necessary to ensure accurate and complete billing records.
Develops a means to confirm all insurance verification upon first treatment, ensuring that the patient has adequate
insurance coverage.
Coordinates activities between the Cancer Center registration and Memorial Hospital business office.
Accurate and timely pre-registration and registration of Cancer Center patients using the IMPAC and Meditech
systems.
Assists patients with all insurance information and problems.
Responsible for auditing charts upon completion of treatment, verifying the accuracy of charges and making
adjustments accordingly.
Maintains:
“Patient/oriented/guest relations” approach with all communications with staff, patient, family members,
physicians, physician’s office and insurance companies.
Positive work relationship with the business office and third party payers, in order to coordinate and
