Mechanical Engineer

We are a 35 year old machine shop and in 2017, the owner opened a 2nd company that manufactures welding machines and now things are booming. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with knowledge in metal fabrication, manufacturing processes, load calculation and material stress.

Bilingual, English/Spanish would be helpful but not required.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project

- Confirm design specifications and communicate any potential concerns with Project Manager to relay information to customer

- Use Solidworks to create 3D models from project images and descriptions

- Create 2D drawing packages from 3D design

- Meet deadlines and quality expectations

- Design with consideration for budget and manufacturing capabilities

- Develop CNC programs for prototyping and production runs helpful but not required

- Analyze drawings and materials to determine cutting tools, strategies, speeds and feed rates

- Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process

Requirements:

- At least 3 years of experience in a fabrication/production/manufacturing environment

- Must be available 40+ hours per week

- Be able to analyze 3D/2D drawings and models (ie. .dxf, .dwg, .stp, etc.)

- Expert with Solidworks 3D software

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Highly organized and detail oriented

- Outstanding leadership skills

- Be a team player
