Mechanic – ME0824Sanders Brother Construction is currently seeking a professional mechanic to assist in the maintenance of Sanders Brothers’ vehicle fleet. The Mechanic will be a major contributor to Sanders Brother’s 50+ years of success in the construction industry. The Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining fleet of heavy truck and general-purpose vehicle fleet used to support construction related projects in accordance with Department of Transportation and company safety guidelines. Responsibilities include:
Diagnoses and repairs on fleet consisting of regular and diesel-powered vehicles/trucks including heavy trucks – brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment and air conditioning systems.
Adequately explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees on an as-required basis.
Continuously learns new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.
Assisting technician mechanics in performing technical activities.
Keeps company management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
Maintains an organized neat and safe vehicle repair bay.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
1-3 years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem- solving and repair experience with regular and diesel engines.
Have a knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical, a/c, steering, and suspension systems.
Able to diagnose and repair fleet of class 8 trucks, trailers, and light trucks (preferred).
Knowledge of DOT maintenance requirement (preferred).
Must have own tools.
Dedicated to their work with a good attitude to perform in a fast-paced mechanical shop environment
Pre-employment drug test/ background check will help assure we build teams of people who can best work with others and serve customer needs.
Preferred Skills
Vehicle electrical and air conditioning system diagnostic and repair.
Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B
Experience diagnosing and repairing combination vacuum trucks.
Valid Driver’s License and provide 3-year motor vehicle record which meets the minimum operating standards in accordance with SBCC vehicle operation policy.
Welding experience
