HR Generalist
Description Nick Corieri with Robert Half has another exciting opportunity for an HR Generalist to join a great team at a local non-profit agency in Syracuse, New York. This position will solely manage the Human Resources operations for the organization and will report directly to the CEO.Responsibilities: Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Manage and administer the organization's employee benefits programs, working with insurance carriers to ensure prompt enrollment and continuous updates. Administer employee leave policies in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel files, benefits files, and compliance records. Coordinate recruiting and hiring efforts, including posting employment ads, screening resumes, and conducting interviews. Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including completion of new hire paperwork and HR orientation. Assist management with termination decisions, including issuing termination letters and responding to unemployment claims. Interpret and administer organizational policies and rules, and assist in the development and implementation of new or revised policies. Address and provide support for various HR-related topics, issues, and concerns, assisting managers in disciplinary proceedings and counseling of employees. Stay updated and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations.For immediate consideration, apply to this posting and reach out to Nick from Robert Half.Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in a HR Generalist role, preferably within a non-profit organization Proficiency in HRIS systems, specifically Paychex, is essential Demonstrated experience in managing benefit functions and benefits administration Proven abilities in compliance management and maintaining HR policies Strong understanding and experience in handling FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) matters Excellent skills in employee relations and conflict resolution Experience in onboarding new employees and managing the recruitment process is required Capability to develop and implement effective recruiting strategies Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
