Full-Time Graphic Designer / Large Format Press Operator

Busy commercial printing and graphic design company seeking a full-time experienced Graphic Designer / Large Format Press Operator. Candidates must be responsible and able to meet deadlines, possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and be reliable. A very friendly office environment where most employees have been with the company for 5-10+ years. This position will likely be 40% graphic design work an 60% large format production work. We are willing to train the right graphic designer who would like to learn a trade production craft.

Graphic Design Duties Include:

Review preflight digital files received from customers and check for common production issues

Generate prepress proofs and guide customer in the creation of completed files compatible with workflow

Communicate to the CSR, customer, and/or production personnel of possible issues and recommend fixes

Upload approved files to prepress server for production

Act as first line of defense in quality print control prior and during print production

Occasional design work as requested by clients

Some administrative duties as assigned

Large Format Digital Press Duties Include:

Print large format jobs that have been approved for production

Perform quality spot checks during printing and prep jobs for shipping

Occasionally order raw materials for upcoming production work

Prior experience operating a large format digital printing press a plus

Prior experience with large format digital contour cutter a plus

Skills and Qualifications

Design and detail-oriented with client satisfaction a top priority

Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite software including, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Professional

Thorough understanding of digital file formats (pdf, upg, tiff, eps, vector files)

Some color management skills, an understanding of the digital printing process, and experience with Fiery imposition software a plus

Full-time 40 hours a week. Position hours are M-F 8:30-5pm, and this position is not available for remote work.

The position will report to the lead graphic designer & business owner.

$20-22 hr depending on experience.
