Warehouse Clerk
Job Description
Warehouse Clerk is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring specialized services and materials required for manufacturing processes that are outsourced to external suppliers. This role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring the quality and timely delivery of materials and services, and working closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet company objectives.
Role and Responsibilities
-Work closely with suppliers for special process services such as heat treatment, plating, coating, and other outsourced manufacturing processes.
-Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and cost.
-Generate and review open order reports to monitor the status of all active purchase orders.
-Prioritize open orders based on production schedules, lead times, and criticality to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
-Work closely with the quality team to ensure that all outsourced processes meet required specifications and standards.
-Address and resolve any quality issues with suppliers promptly.
-Communicate effectively with suppliers to relay requirements, resolve issues, and coordinate deliveries.
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of supplier communications, purchase orders, and performance metrics.
-Develop and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality or delivery.
-Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
-Maintain comprehensive documentation for all procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance records.
Qualifications / Experience
-Knowledge of special processes such as heat treatment, plating, coating, and other outsourced manufacturing services
-Proven negotiation, organizational, problem solving, and communication skills
-Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
-Experience using ERP software and Microsoft Office.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience level
3 - 5 years experience a plus
Physical Requirements:
-Ability to sit for extended periods.
-Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
