Prior Equipment Rental Counter Customer Service Experience required
Overall Purpose of this position:
The Rental Counter staff represents PDQ Rentals during the contract writing process, on the phone and in all front-line encounters. This person is adept at contract writing, communicating policy, has a good knowledge of our equipment and gives the customer the confidence that they have come to the right place for their equipment rental needs. Regular attendance is essential in this frontline position.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Greets customers with enthusiasm
Inputs customer and equipment information into the computer
Takes payment and makes change
Suggests safety items and other ancillary products
Explains due-date and rental termination process
Fields incoming calls and gives information with a smile
Communicates with shop, dispatch and yard for prompt customer service
Takes calls from salesmen and facilitates their orders
Assists with stocking resale items and maintaining a clean front counter
Picks up parts and makes small to medium deliveries and pickups
Backs up the Yard with customer service if necessary, loading and offloading equipment
Helps with or does the day-end close
Able to work both early or late and on Saturdays
Other Duties that may be included in the responsibilities of the position:
Fills propane tanks
Cleans office or restroom
Moves equipment for display and security
Instructs on proper equipment operation
May be asked to assist in other departments such as dispatch

This is a position requiring an out-going personality and friendly demeanor. Good phone skills are essential. Flexibility and good problem solving skills will enhance this person's ability to do the job.

Qualification Requirements (education, licensing, experience, special skills, knowledge and general abilities):
Good phone skills
Computer knowledge
Forklift and propane certification may be trained at PDQ
Ability to deal easily with people
Understand rental equipment
Physical Demands (how much of the time is spent standing, sitting, walking, lifting etc):
Standing at least 50% of the day
Sitting occasionally
Lifting could be as much as 90 lbs
Typing - often
Reaching and grasping
Occasional bending or squatting
Driving
