Our engineering employees have designed hundreds of miles of overhead transmission and distribution lines for a variety of energy clients. We utilize the latest in design software tools to provide a thorough technical line design.Job Summary:The Senior Transmission Line Engineer is responsible for the design of the electric transmission, sub-transmission, and distribution lines. Our Engineers are responsible for regular ongoing interface with the client at their offices, and occasionally in the field at walk-downs and site visits. In a more senior role, individuals are responsible for the mentoring of junior Design Engineers.What we Offer:We offer a highly competitive compensation & benefits package for all full-time employees. Below are some highlights.The salary range for this position is starting at $80,000 - Commensurate, depending on relevant experience, education, and qualifications.

Who You Are:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university - Civil or Electrical Engineering Degree strongly preferred

Civil or Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) License (or ability to obtain within 1 year)

3+ years transmission and/or distribution line design experience

Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MFAD, and MS Excel

Ability to prioritize work, manage tasks for multiple projects under budget and time constraints

High level of personal initiative and the ability to interact with personnel, clients, and contractors

Strong problem solving and analytical skills and must be proficient on the computer

Passionate and curious about all aspects of technology

Possess intellectual inquisitiveness and demonstrate strong judgement in the face of ambiguity

Strong imagination and ability to bridge creative and technical conversations

Preferred (not required) Skills & Experience:

Experience with PLS-TOWER

Familiar with CPUC GO-95 & 131-D

Familiar with industry codes and standards and have experience as the technical lead on projects

Master’s in Structural Engineering

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performing and overseeing the following daily responsibilities:

Design conceptual routes, layouts, preliminary and detailed designs and specifications for high voltage transmission lines and/or distribution lines

Plan and profile sheets, staking sheets, bills of materials (BOM), and stringing charts

Design criteria

Pole loading drawings, framing drawings, and construction drawings

Terrain models

Structure loading calculations

As-built revisions

Provide construction support.

Review and provide Quality Assurance (QA) for project engineering deliverables developed internally or by third parties.

Attend project site visits/walk downs.

Interface regularly with clients at their offices or in the field.

Support client’s project engineers as directed.

Travel may be required depending on the project.

Independently plan work to meet assigned general objectives.
