Job SummaryThe Director Safety provides the leadership to guide AmeriGas in becoming a best-in-class Safety organization. Sets strategies, enforces safety programs and policies that are meant to prevent injuries, fires and other workplace accidents in all locations, districts, and vehicles. Leads training by directing the development and delivery of safety training programs that educate employees on best-in-class safety work practices, emergency procedures. Builds and maintains an accurate field operation reporting system and manages investigation of accidents and incidents. Collaborates closely with Director - Compliance to ensure AmeriGas complies with federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations and ensures all AmeriGas safety policies are current. Stays current on emerging safety related issues and trends to provide senior leadership guidance and recommended actions the Company should take as a result of new issues.Key Characteristics

Duties and Responsibilities
Safety Strategy -Leads safety initiatives that promote reducing accidents and injuries throughout AmeriGas. Responsible for the development and communication of safety programs designed to minimize lost Workday Cases (LWC), OSHA Recordable, Workers Comp Recordable (WCR) and Accountable Vehicle Incidents (AVI) throughout the company to meet company safety goals and regulatory compliance.
EHS Software and Leading Indicators -Directly oversee EHS Software Systems used to track Safety KPIs and Leading Indicators, using technology to streamline field safety operations.
Field Operations -Directs the team of field safety and corporate safety team to conduct safety assessments and audits to identify operations compliance with safety policies and procedures. Helps determine course of actions where necessary and becomes directly involved as needed. Trains, coaches and mentors operations in the tools, programs, and requirements of the Company’s safety standards. Directly oversees any crisis management situations in coordinator with Compliance Director
Training -Develops with training team the appropriate safety-related training and the optimum communication method for delivery throughout the company. Provides the direction to improve safety awareness across AmeriGas. Collaborates with the Safety Training and Communications Manager in the Center of Excellence face-to-face training programs for new-hires and existing employees at 5 locations across the United States.
Communication -Collaborates with the Safety Training and Communications Manager in safety communication to the Leadership Team, field operations and throughout the company to build a positive safety message and improve the focus on safety.
Acquisitions -Assist in acquisition due diligence, including consulting with experts to provide environmental testing, facility inspection, evaluation and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Communicates with Development team on safety findings and risk issues.
Budget -Manages the annual budget from submitting input to approval and expense control for all cost centers of the safety department.
Reporting External -Complies with reporting to all federal, state, and various government agencies the correct safety reporting as required.
Reporting Internal -Responsible for the safety data that the company tracks such as LWC, RVI, OSHA, WCR and AVI and reviews the AmeriGas KPIs to ensure accurate reporting and communication throughout the company.
Education and Experience
BS degree in Business Administration, Science or equivalent, an MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
10 years business experience with 5 or more as leader in Safety capacity.
Must have advanced speaking, communication, and leadership skills as an experienced business professional.
Working Conditions
Some field travel as required.
