For the past 20 years, Qualcomm has been externally reporting and verifying our greenhouse gas emissions and we are proud to have earned The Climate Registry’s (TCR) Climate Registered™ Platinum status for our environmental accomplishments.This position resides in Qualcomm’s Real Estate and Facilities (QREF) Department, reporting to the Sustainability Director, and supports Qualcomm’s energy and water management activities for our global portfolio covering over 15 million square feet of office, engineering lab, data center and production facilities. The Sustainability Manager will provide support to QREF staff on energy and water related projects, including utilities budgeting and expense management. The Sustainability Manager will work closely with QREF staff, Finance, Corporate Accounting, Procurement, Treasury, Government Affairs/ESG and Supply Chain Management, along with external suppliers, subject matter experts and governmental agencies for regulatory and voluntary reporting of environmental metrics and GHG emissions. The Sustainability Manager will also provide key support in identifying and vetting global renewable energy and carbon reduction projects in support of Qualcomm’s net-zero goal and monitoring progress towards our goals.The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, be able to thrive in a fast-paced atmosphere, have excellent communication, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills, and take a proactive role in creating sustainable and financially beneficial strategies.Duties and Responsibilities include:

Manage the annual global greenhouse gas (GHG) and water data collection, reporting and verification processes and ongoing activities in support of new and emerging global regulations (CSRD, SEC, etc).

Provide annual regulatory GHG reporting to governmental agencies: U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), California Energy Commission (CEC), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and lead activities to obtain independent verification of reports.

Proactively monitor and identify global market developments and corporate benchmarking for environmental best practices and provide recommendations on opportunities for Qualcomm to develop renewable energy and carbon reduction projects leading to renewable power purchase agreements and GHG reductions.

Lead efforts to engage key internal stakeholders to review and vet projects for potential funding, in support of net-zero goals.

Provide strategic oversight of electricity and gas commodity markets and purchasing opportunities to minimize utility expenses and risks.

Develop and manage annual utility budgets for San Diego and Domestic sites and provide periodic updates to Finance, as required.

Support QREF staff in energy efficiency planning and analysis in support of GHG reduction targets.

Conduct utility energy and water invoice analysis and oversight to ensure meters are on most cost effective rate schedules.

Provide GHG and water reporting to Government Affairs/ESG for the Company’s annual corporate responsibility reporting and other company submissions in compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.

Collaborate across functions with multiple stakeholders to consolidate and enhance data reporting activities, policies, and procedures in support of existing and new/revised emissions targets and metrics.

Monitor and report progress towards Qualcomm’s net-zero goal and interim goals.

Provide support and recommendations to Finance on an efficient and cost effective global roadmap to meet net zero emissions goal, including alternatives, options and strategies.

Source and negotiate renewable energy agreements to achieve net zero goals.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science/Policy, or Finance/Accounting Knowledge and experience in energy and water management, greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting/ inventory, reporting, monitoring and verification, renewable energy and/or carbon reduction project development/management. 5-7 years of relevant experience in sustainability or financePreferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in related field.

Knowledge of The GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and/or ISO 14064 and other emerging global regulations on GHG and climate reporting.

Experience in monitoring energy and water efficiency projects

Experience with complex financial analysis, NPV, and ROI calculations

Experience with global renewable energy project development/management and/or carbon reduction project development/management and renewable power purchase agreements

Experience with sustainability/corporate responsibility reporting and external auditors

Experience with environmental reporting to various external organizations such as CDP, S&P, etc.

Understanding of global and regional environmental regulatory landscapes

Program management skills

Excellent data analysis skills and attention to detail

Strong background with Office Suite (Excel/Power BI, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Previous work in coordinating complex projects with various internal stakeholders under strict deadlines

Experience working with multiple partners and strong communication and relationship building skills

Proven understanding of climate accounting and integrating climate risks into corporate strategy
